Introducing E7's Partnership with Device42!

We are thrilled to officially announce E7's new partnership with Device42! Device42 is a software company that specializes in complex and full-stack agentless discovery and dependency mapping platform for hybrid IT environments. Their services allow IT teams to run their IT operations more efficiently, solve problems faster, simply migrate and modernize, and achieve compliance.

Hey Dave, how are you today?

Dave:

I'm good, how are you?

Michael:

I'm doing well. Thanks for joining today.

Dave:

Hey, thank you for having me.

Michael:

Well, I'm very excited that we get to publicly announce our strategic partnership between E7 Solutions and Device42.

Dave:

It's a big day, I'm really glad that you guys reached out. I think it's a very good partnership.

Michael:

Likewise, and for anyone who doesn't know, E7 Solutions is a platinum solutions partner within the Atlassian ecosystem with a heavy focus on ITSM and Cloud migrations. And so, with Atlassian investing so much into the ITSM space, and the product offering continuing to mature, we're super excited to create much more of an enterprise service offering for our enterprise customers. And a big part of that enterprise service offering revolves around asset management and CMDB. And that's where Device42 comes in. So why don't you, for anyone who doesn't know, give a quick overview of Device42.

Dave:

Sure, so we are a software company and we're based in Boston, Massachusetts, but we're international. And we specialize in discovery. So we help organizations discover and locate all of their IT assets. Some of these things can be very sprawling, and people don't know what they have. But also, we not only discover things. We also, we call it dependency mapping, where we can show how these applications and machinery are wired together and depend on one another. And this is really important because these IT environments, they can change very rapidly. And so we offer a snapshot, a very deep and accurate snapshot of what is in your environment and how they all work together.

Michael:

I can't stress how many times these conversations around device mapping, and dependency mapping and discovery come up when we speak to enterprises. This is really why we're so excited about this strategic partnership. Being able to accurately and automatically identify those objects and identify those dependencies. It is such a big piece of that service management that we're talking about.

Dave:

Our software definitely fits a market need where it is. You see that IT environments are constantly becoming more and more complex with migration of the Cloud, data centers, virtual machines, all of this kind of stuff. And we provide companies with an accurate picture of what they have. And we've found that there's a high demand for it.

Michael:

And that discovery, just for everyone who doesn't know, Dave, that discovery works on-premise if you're running virtual machines and you're running physical servers and infrastructure, Google Cloud, AWS, Azure. And so when we're talking about assets, we're talking about things that you can go in the basement and maybe physically touch, or things that you're running off of a public cloud.

Dave:

Yes, if it exists, we can discover it. So that's the way it works, yeah. And it used to be really easy, right? You just walk into a data center, and these are my machines. That's changed over time, where now you have the Cloud and you have virtual machines. So yes, again, a real market need for our services. And we're really glad to partner with you guys.

Michael:

Likewise, when we talk about an enterprise service offering for teams that are looking at service management and being able to provide a high grade of service management, oftentimes means being able to know what assets we're talking about, what dependencies we're talking about. And so, we're extremely excited about this partnership. I know we'll talk about some webinars in the future. Maybe some co-branding events and some more details to come around this, but this particular video is intended to just announce that. I think if anyone out there would like to learn more about E7 Solutions and the Atlassian tools, or Device42, we are absolutely available to take some calls and discuss further detail what that means.

Dave:

Yeah, I think this is a great kickoff to what is hopefully a long and lasting partnership. So this is great.

Michael:
