Transitioning to a work-from-home environment happened very quickly due to the pandemic. Some offices even shut down to work remotely for the unforeseeable future. Today, we are now finding ways to enhance that remote success with stronger collaboration features, wider selection of mobile applications, and more. Meet Atlassian Cloud Mobility!

Nora:

Hey, Michael, how are you today?

Michael:

Hey, Nora. I'm doing well. How are you?

Nora:

I'm doing well. And I'm really happy to have you here to talk about cloud mobility today.

Michael:

Yeah, absolutely. It's definitely a hot topic the last couple of weeks in our industry. As you know, last year everyone was forced to work from home and maybe unexpectedly go remote. And that was great last year. And I think a lot of teams were successful at that. But to your point about mobility this year, that theme is very much taking it to that next level. So we have remote workforces. We have folks all over the place and we're successfully doing that. But how do we take it to that next step? How do we get more efficiencies within our teams and really drive that collaboration to a new level?

Nora:

Yeah, I agree. Time to value is just one of the many core benefits of cloud that are important to businesses today. So many businesses are moving to the Atlassian Cloud because it literally saves them quantifiable amounts of time and frees them up to do more work and better work, too.

Michael:

Yeah, exactly. Your software in the cloud helps teams move faster so that they can deliver with speed and quality.

Nora:

Yeah, I agree. And we all know time is money, but how does that apply to the remote workforce?

Michael:

You know, there's been a lot of innovation with the mobile apps for the Atlassian tools, and now you have the full capabilities of Jira on your mobile phone. So anyone with an Android or iOS device can take those features. And there were a lot of features that aren't available on On-prem Jira, so for server. So, and these features are like roadmaps and you may have some continuous integration or delivery integrations built in. Now you get to leverage those items directly from your phone with your mobile app, so that's really great. You want to talk about mobile and distributed workforces. Everybody has a phone, everyone has a tablet or a laptop. So it really leverages to the age of where we're working today.

Nora:

Yeah, really cool. And it's secure, right?

Michael:

Oh yeah, absolutely. We've talked at length about some of the Atlassian security and the mobile apps come with all of that baked in. So there's no need to VPN in, which is one of the crowd pleasers. You don't have to VPN in on your mobile device, but you get to leverage all of that enterprise class security that Atlassian has to offer.

Nora:

Yeah. And as you know, I'm a Mac user. So are there any updates for other Mac users that are like me?

Michael:

Yeah. I know you love your Mac, right Nora? There are definitely some options and some new capabilities with the native app for Mac. So, this might not be the most asked for feature, but definitely the longest asked for feature that I've heard is the dark-mode feature. So, that is native part of the app on your Mac OS now. So, when you're working in the dark space or at night or night mode, whichever one you might want to call it, I think that that's a big crowd pleaser as well. And then you also, like the mobile, you get the total power of Jira software in one simple place. So you have your backlogs, your continuous integrations, continuous integration and delivery integrations. You have your backlogs reports, the whole lot. It's really great.

Nora:

Yeah. There's so many really cool options. And our project managers will definitely love that.

Michael:

Yeah, they will. And the business stakeholders will love it, too. It's enhanced performance across the distributed teams with improved speed and really improved velocity. That's where we deliver that time to value impact and the ROI is really moving to the cloud.

Nora:

Yeah. And that's a nice part about automation. So, moving faster means freeing up resources to deliver on innovation, not to mention boosting your competitive advantage.

Michael:

Yeah, exactly. You got it. So, anyway, let me flip the switch here, Nora. Why don't you tell me a little bit about what we're doing at E7 in terms of helping our clients achieve these kinds of results?

Nora:

Yeah, for sure. So, I'm sure you heard of the story of Rockwell automation where we helped reduce the resource overhead from six people to only one part-time person. So, Rockwell is a great example of freeing up time for their staff to do their most meaningful work. Those resources are now focused on improving the business rather than care and feeding the application.

Michael:

Yeah, exactly. That Rockwell is an excellent success story for us. And it was really great to see their team prosper from those Atlassian Cloud capabilities.

Nora:
